Stop QuickBooks From Automatically Placing Check Mark on Print Later and Email Later

This article pertains to QuickBooks Pro for Desktop.

Problem: When you create an Invoice, QuickBooks automatically places a check mark in the fields for Print Later and/or Email Later.

Solution: This is an option in your QuickBooks for DesktopPreferences. Go to Preferences. Click on Send Forms. Select Company Preferences and change Delivery Method Default to None. Click Ok.

Behind the scenes, whenever you create a new customer, QuickBooks uses this setting to set that customer’s Preferred Delivery Method under Payment Settings. If you choose Mail, it will set up new customers to have their Delivery Method as Mail and it will automatically check the box to Print Later on the Invoice. If you choose Email, it will set up new customers to have their Delivery Method as Email and it will automatically check the box to Email Later on the Invoice. If you choose None, it will set up new customers to have their Delivery Method as None and it will not automatically check either box.
